Matthew A. Mingle is Of Counsel at King, Moench & Collins LLP. He brings more than 20 years of experience working with public entities and nonprofit organizations, with a professional background that spans teaching, school district leadership, board governance, and education-focused legal and policy work.
Mr. Mingle’s practice is focused on advising public sector clients, with particular attention to governance, compliance, and the practical realities that shape decision-making in mission-driven organizations. He also advises nonprofits involved in the education field on various legal issues including compliance.
Concurrent with his practice, Mr. Mingle serves as a chief school administrator to a New Jersey public school district and is also an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University, where he teaches Education Law and School Finance.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mingle served in senior leadership roles in public education, including as a superintendent and assistant superintendent. In these roles, he led districtwide operations and supported long-range planning, staffing, budgeting, and program implementation across preschool through grade 12 systems.
Mr. Mingle earned his Juris Doctor through Seton Hall University School of Law’s weekend program, with a concentration in Law & Technology in Privacy & Security Law. He also holds a Doctor of Education from Rutgers University, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton, and a Bachelor of Arts in History Education from the University of Delaware.
Mr. Mingle has been recognized for his leadership in public education, including NJASCD’s Dr. Ernest Boyer Outstanding Educator Award, the Middle States Council for the Social Studies’s Daniel Roselle Award, and being named Somerset County Superintendent of the Year.
Mr. Mingle also supports his community including serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Pay it Forward 9/11.
